After completing Teach First, Natasha spent 5 years as a school leader in a school she co-founded with some fellow Teach Firsters. From that she moved into government policy and was asked to join a review of education in prisons. She had no knowledge of the prison service, but once there it became clear that the prison officer was the agent of change, and a Teach First style programme would bring some new brilliant and enthusiastic people into the service. I secured government funding and launched the programme in 2016.
Unlocked Graduates is aiming to change the way we develop society’s future leaders, as well as how we think about prisons and prisoners by focusing on rehabilitation, and addressing the terrible damage and cost of reoffending. Our unique two-year leadership development programme is growing society’s future leaders, as well as tackling the damage and cost of prisoner reoffending.
